If you're having a vintage wedding like me, finding the perfect attire for your bridesmaids can be a bit tricky. Especially when your girls have different types...it may be hard to find a silhouette that looks at least semi decent on all of the girls. Some girls may look great in halters, two straps, strapless, sweet hearts, and the list can go on and on. Oh yes, don't forget there's a-line, mermaid, slim fit, etc. etc. etc....
If you've found a dress that looks great on all the girls, but it just needs that extra umph to give it that perfect touch (in my case a vintage touch), there are a few things you can do to add some vintage pizazz to their wardrobe.
First off, you need a simple dress. If you're going for a vintage wedding, I think the off shoulder dresses go perfect with theme! But that's just my opinion. =)
Option #1 Vintage Brooches
These little guys are perfect to add a little pizazz or vintage glam to your bridesmaids dresses. You can have them get the same brooches or different ones that they can keep later on.
For the dress that you see above. You could place it right above where that vertical sash begins. With other dresses you can add it near the waist or near the bosom of the dress.
Option #2 Pearls, Pearls, Pearls!
Seriously what more is there to say. Pearls are always super classy, vintage, and are just so adorable. BUT make sure you get the right type of pearls. If you're looking for a more youthful/modern look probably smaller sized ones will do. Also, the necklace length will give it a different appeal. There are some that hug the neck and some that hang down low. It all depends on what you're going for.
Option #3 Shawls or Cardigans
If some of your girls are uncomfortable with showing too much skin, you can always have the option of having them wear a shawl or wrap. Plus, if it's a bit breezy and your ceremony is outdoors, this may be a nice touch. On the other hand, you can also have your girls wear cardigans that match as well. So many possibilities!
Other options...
leggings, gloves, closed toed pumps, and small feathers in their hairs, and the list goes on and on....
