These past few weeks that I've been off for summer break have been a great time for me just to reflect upon my career, blogging, and just about life. I've been asking myself a lot of different questions. Most of my questions have been revolving around my intentions behind pursuing a different career and why I keep blogging. While struggling with these questions I began to see my deep desire to help engaged couples, but at the same time I saw myself wanting to selfishly make a name for myself through blogging and the career switch. In all honesty, I really wanted to try to make this blog successful so I could make money off of it and become like all the other famous wedding blogs out there. After going through this blogging course called Blogging Your Way, I realized that my selfish intentions were really getting in the way from putting content that I ultimately wanted to post. I've learned to tell myself that this blog isn't about trying to make money, but it's about inspiring others and helping out distressed brides. Ultimately, my blogging experience started because I wanted to keep a journal of things that I learned so my friends could learn from my mistakes. I hope I never will sell myself out and make this blog super commercialized (if that ever happens). If I do, you have the right to hit me upside the head. =)
